kitchen final

So after a lot of time take out screws and hinges, sanding, priming, painting and coating, my kitchen was finally done! If you wish to see all the before pictures click here

Not only did we paint the cabinets, but we got a little crazy and painted the bottom of our island green and the under part of the breakfast nook green as well. The breakfast nook had taken a beating from my son kicking the wall. That little area gets used for coloring, homework and his multitudinous inventions!

We also made the valance above the sink that will be detailed in a later post. They are actually pretty cheap to make yourself.

You may notice the new faucet on the sink. This was not an intended purchase but ours had gotten tight and loose many times. My dh was at Lowe’s looking for parts to fix the builder’s grade one we had and he was able to score  for $44.00 on clearance! It pays to look in the nook and crannies at Lowe’s!

We also slowly changed over the hinges from gold to pewter. They are not overly expensive but we had a ton of them so it did get expensive to do all at once.

I hope you like it! We really like it! The tile counters and backsplash have been here since we moved into the house and for now they will stay. Our next project is regrouting them as they are starting to crack in some places..not the most exciting project but needed nonetheless..
